2001 Cadillac DeVille

For 2001, Cadillac calls the DeVille a "fusion of design and technology." It combines its "strong lines, bold shapes, and pleasing textures" with its Northstar System for a "balance of power, responsiveness, and sophistication." Owning a Cadillac DeVille means that regular scheduled maintenance is a no-charge benefit.

For 2001, there are three versions of the Deville: DeVille, DeVille DHS, and DeVille DTS.

The leather for the seats come from a small century-old tannery, and in DHS and DTS, the cabin is trimmed in genuine Zebrano wood. The automatic climate control system provides three separate zones for heat or cooling. In the DHS and DTS, the stereo system is a 275-watt Bose system.

The DTS features a transmission innovation called Performance Algorithm Shifting (PAS) so that when the transmission "senses that spirited driving is underway, it selects the lowest available gear for optimum performance, just as a highly skilled driver would do in a car equipped with a manual gearbox."

2001 Cadillac DHS

The DHS Rainsense windshield detects moisture and automatically activates the wipers. Not only are the seats heated, but the front seats provide massaging lumbars. When parking, the passenger-side rearview mirror automatically tilts down when the transmission is shifted into reverse in order to observe the ground. The memory feature allows two separate drivers a pre-set configuration of seating position, mirrors, climate control, and radio stations.

2001 Cadillac DTS

The primary advantage of the DHS and DTS is the optional Night Vision system which increases the visibility of the road ahead by detecting the heat signature of pedestrians and animals that are beyond the normal distance illuminated by the headlights alone. The Night Vision system reveals an image on the windshield as a Head-Up display.

2001 Cadillac DTS

StabiliTrak detects lateral skidding during cornering and applies the brakes to keep the vehicle stable.

The Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist features a system of four ultrasonic sensors on the rear fascia that detects obstacles behind the car and alerts the driver with chimes and LEDs.
